Home About Us Our Purpose

The sole purpose of the non-profit organization as written in Section III (A) of the club's bi-laws is the "betterment of fishing on the Lake Winnebago system."  To fulfill that purpose, the O.S.F.C. raises money by holding 3 main events each year.  We also use membership dues as well as donations to meet funding needs. We rely heavily on our members and volunteers to make sure our events are a success.

The major fund raiser of the year is the annual walleye tournament which is held on Father's Day weekend.  Every angler that fishes the tournament pays a conservation fee that is added to their entry fee. Through 1990-2006, the total amount raised from conservation fees paid by the anglers is over $120,000.  Every dollar raised has gone back to the betterment of fishing by funding projects like those listed here.  The annual winter fisheree and banquet which are held in February are also very important elements that make up the total money raised each year for funding various projects and operating costs.
